Nemours offers families a variety of support services. A full listing may be found in the “What We Offer” section of the site.
If you are staying overnight at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, there are many services available to make your life a little easier. Volunteers (who are always dressed in red tops) will offer you complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate each day. Families may place meal orders from the patient's menu, which may be pre-paid or paid with a credit card for this service. Meals for mothers who are breastfeeding babies up to six months of age are free.
You can also purchase food in the cafeteria located just off the main lobby, or the Jazzman Café in the outpatient lobby. Please note there is no smoking in the hospital.

The Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children maintains an outpatient pharmacy that fills prescriptions and stocks many basic over-the-counter medications such as acetaminophen (Tylenol), ibuprofen (Advil and Motrin), and diphenhydramine (Benadryl). To use this service, you’ll need to present the doctor’s written or electronic prescription along with your prescription plan card. The pharmacy takes most insurance plans.
The outpatient pharmacy is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Injury Prevention Program at the duPont Hospital for Children is committed to decreasing the incidence of traumatic injuries through community-based education efforts. These efforts include our Child Passenger Safety Station, our in-house Safety Store, and various teaching programs, along with our Safety Tips.
