Requirements
- BSN preferred
- Must have or be eligible for Delaware Nurse License, license must be active upon hire
- BLS Certification with the American Heart Association
- Must be a newly licensed Registered Nurse with no previous professional nursing experience

When do Nurse Residency tracks start?
August and March of each year.
Is it required that all new grads start on a track?
Yes.
What is the length of the program?
12 months.
Is there a time commitment required?
Must attend all eight nurse residency sessions.
How often does the program run?
Two times a year.
What does the hospital consider a new grad?
An individual with no previous nursing experience.
How is the program structured?
There are eight sessions that encompass classroom discussions and simulations that tie into the unit-based orientation and skills confirmation. There is also a group project. Program finishes with graduation at our Legacy day.
How do I know what position to apply for?
Nurse residency openings will be posted on Nemours.org/careers and you can apply accordingly.
Is the residency general entry or unit specific?
All new graduates are in the Graduate Nurse Essential Curriculum are hired in collaboration with Unit Programs.
When are the application periods?

Is the program required to enter the hospital?
Yes.
Is it paid?
Yes, you are paid your registered nurse rate.
How many new grads do you hire?
The number of hires is based on need.
About Our Hospital in Delaware
The Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware is a multispecialty, tertiary care teaching institution located on a 300-acre estate in the scenic Brandywine Valley in Wilmington, Del.
