Pulmonology
Helping Kids Breathe Their Best
Pediatric pulmonologists treat breathing and airway issues. This includes childhood lung diseases like asthma, breathing problems in children with muscle conditions and cystic fibrosis. We also treat infections and other problems that affect breathing.
We test and treat kids in unique ways and in family-friendly settings. We work closely with respiratory therapists, who provide breathing therapy. Lung and airway issues can affect many parts of kids’ bodies. That’s why we partner with surgeons and other specialists.
Nemours Children's Health has fully accredited programs for asthma and for cystic fibrosis in Delaware and Florida. We’re finding better ways to identify and treat these diseases through research and clinical trials.
Chronic lung diseases and breathing issues are sometimes linked to poverty and environment. This is why Nemours is an advocate for improving all aspects of children’s lives. We aim to help children breathe freer and live healthier lives.

We see many children every year. This means that we see the full range of lung and airway conditions, from coughs, sleep problems and infections to chronic diseases and conditions that require surgery.
We have special programs for childhood lung and airway conditions. We have complete programs built around specific conditions, such as asthma, sleep disorders, sickle cell disease and muscular dystrophy. In some Nemours locations, these are the only accredited programs of their kind.
We’re leading the way in cystic fibrosis care and research. Our CF Care Centers are accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We also offer the latest clinical trials for new medicines and therapies to help kids and teens with CF.
We Make Asthma Care Easy With the Nemours App
We created the Nemours app to help you easily manage your child’s asthma, as well manage other aspects of your child’s health care. The app is interactive, so it quickly assesses how your child’s asthma is doing, and tells you what steps you should take. It also lets you communicate with your care team, track appointments and symptoms, access your child’s medical records, and launch video doctor visits on demand.
