Nemours Children’s Health, Jacksonville is now offering a clinic dedicated to the neuropsychological and psychological assessment of Spanish-speaking children and dual language learners of English and Spanish. Our clinic has dedicated bilingual staff members that can provide all services in Spanish and English for children 2 to 16 years of age.
Our Experts Can Assess Language Dominance, Learning Disorders and More
Children whose native language is Spanish, as well as children learning both Spanish and English, have unique assessment and learning needs. We have a dedicated set of both Spanish and English based assessment tests that can evaluate:
- Intellectual skills
- Academic achievement
- Receptive and expressive language skills
- Proficiency in English versus Spanish to objectively determine language dominance
- Neurocognitive skills for children with complex medical needs, learning disabilities and language disorders
This information will help provide feedback to parents, educators and schools about readiness for English-only instruction versus additional English as a second language (ESL) support.
