Get to Know Me
I grew up in South Carolina and Mississippi and received my medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine where I was admitted to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school honor society. I’ve been a practicing pediatrician for more than 25 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.
Why I Treat Children
I love working with children – their honesty, spontaneity, and sense of humor makes every day different. I believe in family-centered care. Nobody knows a child better than a parent. I encourage their participation and I make a point to listen closely to the questions and concerns of parents and children.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m dedicated to providing the very highest standard of care for children and families. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and expertise with future doctors, so that they can see how rewarding, and how much fun it is to take care of kids.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I believe that all children deserve the same care and quality of life no matter where they live. I am part of Hands-Up for Haiti, a medical mission organization and travel regularly to Haiti to work and teach. On several occasions, I’ve brought along medical students, giving them the opportunity to experience “pure medicine,” – that is, clinical medicine at its most basic, without technology – to help students develop their diagnostic skills.
