Get to Know Me
I’m a Delaware Valley native who knew at age 4, that I wanted to go to medical school. I married my high school sweetheart, and our family includes biological, adopted, and foster children. As an intensivist, I wear two hats at duPont Hospital for Children: pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist and Medical Director of the Cardiac ICU.
Why I Treat Children
Medicine is a perfect way to combine my love of science and my desire to have a career serving others. Children are a joy to treat because they’re so resilient, and they confront life with whatever life hands them. Caring for children is in line with my priorities.
What I'm Passionate About
I live by the philosophy that, “we can never feel the pinch of someone else’s shoes,” That is, we just don’t know what it’s like to be in someone else’s position. It’s important to avoid being judgmental. I would also like to see medicine move back toward the art of pure healing.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I think we can make the biggest difference by listening, by understanding a patient’s and family’s story. Their needs come first.
