I'm a pediatric hematologist and oncologist, and an assistant professor at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College. I primarily treat kids with non-malignant hematologic disorders and serve on various committees advocating for patients with hematologic diseases.
I always wanted to work with kids and their families and to be able to provide good medical care to people of various backgrounds. I think working with kids and other pediatricians is one of the more enjoyable parts of life. I want to advocate on my patients and families’ behalf and to give them the best care possible.
I'm most passionate about non-malignant hematologic disease. In particular I focus on immunohematology and care for patients with sickle cell disease, and I have a particular interest in reproductive health for patients with sickle cell disease, as well as metalogic disorders. I take care of dysfunctional uterine bleeding due to bleeding disorders such as Willebrand disease. I take care of patients with iron deficiency anemia with immune-mediated thrombocytopenias and other immune mediated cytopenia.
Throughout my care, I make a point to be present with each patient and family when I'm with them, to make sure that they are heard and advocated for.
