Get to Know Me

Dr. Pimpiroon Ploysangam spent most of her childhood in Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated with distinction from Boston University and received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. Her ophthalmology residency was at SUNY University at Buffalo, where she served as chief resident and cultivated her interests in pediatrics and oculoplastics. She has since completed her pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus fellowship at Duke University, followed by an oculoplastics fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Why I Treat Children

Pediatrics has always had a special place in my heart. Pediatric ophthalmology truly marries my love of working with our little people with the large scope of practice and surgical procedures.

What I'm Passionate About

I have a special interest in pediatric oculoplastics. Oculoplastics is a beautiful balance of creativity and anatomy to create an outcome that is functional but also cosmetically appropriate. Every case is unique.

How I Try to Make A Difference

As a physician, I recognize that I am sometimes meeting a sick patient and their family at their worst. Such encounters are humbling, and it reminds me that it is a privilege to be my patient’s advocate.
