Get to Know Me
I had the absolute privilege of being the child of a diplomat — I had lived on three continents by the time I started college. As an adult, I worked in Atlanta, Cleveland and St. Louis before coming here and am now ready to explore the greater area around Wilmington. According to my parents I first expressed interest in being a doctor when I was two years old, and here we are today!
Why I Treat Children
Children represent the best of us — wonder, joy and openness to new people and experiences. Treating children allows me to be a part of experiencing and restoring that joy every day. And even when they’re not joyful, they’re cute.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m passionate about empowering people through education. The Latin root of the word doctor means “to teach,” and it is such a crucial part of what we do in medicine. Whether it is a child, their parent or a young clinician in training, helping them to understand a concept gives them power, and honestly it gives me the warmest of fuzzies to witness someone stepping into that power … even more so if I had something to do with showing it to them.
