Phase II Placebo-Controlled Trial of Modafinil to Improve Neurocognitive Deficits in Children Treated for a Primary Brain Tumor
What is the trial about?
Compares the effects (good and/or bad) of a medicine called modafinil to a placebo (no active medicine).
Who can participate?
Patients who have been treated for a primary brain tumor with surgery, chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
What is involved?
- The study will last a maximum of 10 weeks.
- Your child will take modafinil or placebo daily for 6 weeks. Then he/she will repeat tests that were given before starting study medicine.
- 30 days later the study staff will see how he/she is doing.
