Compassionate Care for Newborns & Families
A Nemours Children's we give newborns who need neurological care the best possible start in life. We provide all the care and support babies and their families need.
Our program, which is part of our recognized Neuroscience Center in Delaware Valley, treats babies with neurological conditions diagnosed before birth. We also care for newborns who have a brain injury that happens during birth. And we counsel and support parents who receive a diagnosis during pregnancy.
Other hospitals can transfer your baby to our children's hospital in Delaware (we offer critical care transport). We also have an Advanced Delivery Unit, so some families can deliver here and never have to be transferred. This allows parents to stay close to their baby after birth.
For babies who need it, we have a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This is the highest level of care possible for newborns. Our attending neurologists are available 24/7, and work seamlessly with the NICU team. We also have a team of pediatric neurosurgeons who are skilled at neonatal surgery.
We monitor children when they leave the hospital, and can even offer virtual follow-up visits. We know having a sick newborn is one of the most challenging things a parent can face. We do everything we can to support you now and long into the future.

We offer 24/7 care in our Level IV NICU (the highest level possible), with attending neonatal neurologists and pediatric neurosurgeons always available.
We have an Advanced Delivery Program. This means you may be able to deliver your baby here, and they’ll have access to world-class treatment right after delivery
We provide the latest care for newborns with brain injuries, including treatments for seizures, encephalopathy and other neurological conditions.
Babies come here from other hospitals to receive care from our neonatal neurology team.
