Pediatric General Surgery
Experts in a Wide Range of Kids' Conditions
Nemours Children's pediatric surgeons help children of all ages, from newborns to young adults.
“General surgery” means operations that don’t involve the brain, bones or heart. General surgeons remove tumors and correct problems babies are born with. They also perform emergency surgeries for conditions like appendicitis or for injuries.
You’ve probably heard the phrase, “from routine to complex.” But we know that trusting your child to a surgeon’s care is always hard, no matter how routine.
We do everything we can to keep your child safe. We use the best technology and techniques that cause the least discomfort and fastest healing. And we always stay focused on preventing infections.
We want every child to grow up healthy. For some children, surgery is a stop along that journey. But it needn’t stop them.
