At the Nemours Swank Autism Center, we prepare children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to grow up to be as independent as possible. With our expertise and support, you get everything you need right here, all in one place.
Our psychologists, psychiatrists and developmental pediatricians care for babies and children of all ages. We provide complete ASD evaluations, as well as genetic testing, advanced brain imaging and specialist appointments as needed.

We provide team-based care. Our team includes experts in child psychology, psychiatry and developmental pediatrics. We work together, with your family, to create a customized care plan. We want your child to grow to be as independent as possible.
We’re researching autism and training tomorrow’s experts. Our team is actively researching autism to come up with new ways to care for children and families. This means we help kids everywhere live better with this condition.
We work closely with other specialists. Our team has close access to specialists who know how to help children with autism. These are experts in pediatric neurology, GI (digestive), audiology (hearing), genetic counseling, rehabilitation therapies (physical, occupational, speech, language, etc.) and assistive devices.
We manage your child’s medical needs, too. Children with autism can have other conditions like anxiety, depression, epilepsy, ADHD and OCD. As your child grows, we look for and address problems early. We can manage medicines and care with multiple providers.
We help parents succeed. We offer education and support programs so you can help your child thrive. We’ll coach you on handling tantrums, toileting issues, sleep problems, discipline issues, task transitioning, aggression and more. We also have a kitchen where you can learn to prepare healthy, low-sensory foods.

Our team includes social workers and Child Life specialists who provide counseling, play therapy and help finding services and school support. When it’s time, we’ll help your teen transition to adult health care, too. We’re here every step of the way.

The Swank Autism Center was designed to make coming here calm and enjoyable. Located away from the hectic hospital, we have soothing colors and lighting, and keep sounds and activity to a minimum. We make parking and access simple, with no stairs or elevators to manage. Everything we do is for your family’s best experience.
