Help for Hormones and Growth

Endocrinologists treat diabetes, thyroid problems and other conditions related to hormones. Kids dealing with growth, puberty, energy level or mood problems may see a pediatric endocrinologist.

If you’re seeking a second opinion or treatment for a growth or puberty condition, we can help. We’re experts at diagnosis, and work with families to figure out the best plan of care. This may include medicines, lifestyle changes and education.

Our diabetes programs in Delaware and Florida are Accredited Centers of Excellence. Both lead the way in keeping kids out of the hospital. Nemours is also part of a worldwide research network investigating diabetes prevention.

We see kids with diabetes and other endocrine conditions thriving every day. We’ll make sure your family has the support you need at home and at school.

We bring the most experienced team. Our team includes pediatric endocrinologists, nurses with advanced training, registered dietitians, social workers, psychologists and certified diabetes educators.

We actively research diabetes and other endocrine conditions. At our pediatric clinical research units and labs in the Delaware Valley and Florida, we investigate diabetes, obesity, growth and nutrition. We’re involved in important clinical research and clinical trials to look for better ways to diagnose and treat childhood endocrine conditions.

We help kids stay out of the hospital. Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious condition that can land children in the hospital. By educating families about diabetes management, we’ve kept the number of children who need hospital care within 90 days after going home from the hospital well under the national average; in some Nemours locations, it’s zero.

We’re experts in growth and puberty. We see many families for referrals and second opinions.
