Who Has a Little Lamb
Prep: None | Activity Time: 5 Minutes
Babies love to hear their own names. Try substituting your child’s name in simple nursery rhymes to build pre-reading skills like phonological awareness.

Step 1: Sing the nursery rhyme, Mary Had a Little Lamb, to your baby.
"Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb.
Mary had a little lamb; its fleece was white as snow.
Everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go."
Step 2: Sing the nursery rhyme again, this time substituting your child’s name for Mary.
Step 3: If your baby is interested and engaged, sing again.
