The noises that your baby is making at this stage are his attempts at speaking real words. Sometimes, the sounds give you a laugh! Well, let your baby know that you enjoyed his “joke” and that you want him to keep making more sounds, babbles and coos. Your baby will be delighted to see you smile, laugh and cheer when he talks.
Step 1: Smile, laugh and clap when your baby makes a funny noise.
Step 2: Start a conversation, as if he just spoke actual words to you.

Really? That is so interesting!
And then what happened? Tell me more!
You are such a great storyteller!”
