Give Me Space

Birth to 5 Months | Beginning Writing

Prep: None | Activity Time: 5 Minutes

As much as possible, keep your infant in the least restrictive space when awake. Minimize time spent in infant seats, swings, bouncers, etc. Spending time on a blanket on the floor gives your baby more freedom to move her arms, legs and body.

  • Blanket for tummy time on the floor
  • Infant toys

Step 1: When your infant is awake and alert, place her on a blanket on the floor.  This will allow her to move freely with limited restriction.

Step 2: Provide infant toys for her to bat, touch and mouth. Place some items slightly outside of your baby’s reach to encourage her to reach for objects.
