TARE-Y90 (Transarterial Radioembolization With Yttrium-90)
World-Class Expertise for Kids With Liver Tumors
When families enter our Liver Tumor Program, they know they are getting research-backed results with a family-centered approach. Our team takes a coordinated approach to identifying and treating your child’s liver tumor through the exclusive treatment with Y90, or transarterial radioembolization with yttrium-90 (TARE-Y90).
As one of the only children’s hospitals in the nation offering Y90, we have developed the experience and research that help put your child’s recovery first. Y90 is a common procedure in adults, but until recently was rarely used in children’s cancer treatment.
TARE-Y90 is revolutionary because it targets the tumor without damaging the healthy parts of the liver. It offers children the opportunity to have their tumor removed through partial resection (removal of tissue) of their liver or a liver transplant procedure.
Our team of internationally recognized experts in oncology, cancer surgery, liver transplant and interventional radiology focuses on providing your family with the latest research and approaches. The multidisciplinary approach we use ensures that every expert has a chance to weigh in, and that the correct plan is designed. With the Nemours Y90 program, we're giving families help and hope.
