Grapefruit Popsicles
These homemade grapefruit popsicles are not only delicious but also packed with vitamins and antioxidants, making them a healthy and refreshing treat for kids on a hot day.
Ingredients
- 2 cups freshly squeezed grapefruit juice (about 3–4 grapefruits)
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 cup water
- Optional: finely chopped mint leaves or basil leaves for extra flavor
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the water and honey or maple syrup. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sweetener has dissolved completely. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and the sweetened water mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Optional: Add finely chopped mint leaves or basil leaves to the grapefruit mixture for extra flavor.
- Pour the grapefruit mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion.
- Insert popsicle sticks into the molds and freeze for at least 4–6 hours, or until completely frozen.
- Once frozen, remove the popsicles from the molds by running them under warm water for a few seconds.
- Serve these refreshing grapefruit popsicles immediately and enjoy.
