Comprehensive Blood Disorders Care for Kids
Nemours Children’s hematologists (blood disorder experts) are recognized for expertise in treating the full range of cancerous and noncancerous blood disorders in children and teens. We provide complete care for common and rare conditions, from anemia, iron deficiency, and hemophilia to bone marrow failure syndromes, blood cancers, and sickle cell disease.
We’re part of a nationally ranked cancer and blood disorders center of excellence. Here, many pediatric experts work as one team across multiple locations and specialties in Delaware and Florida. We offer innovative treatments like stem cell transplantation, gene therapies, and advanced infusion services at convenient, kid-friendly locations.
Our pediatric hematologists partner with scientists and researchers to improve care for kids. We’re a sickle cell research center offering the most up-to-date treatment. We participate in studies that advance care for children with immune thrombocytopenia. We’re a designated, accredited pediatric hemophilia treatment center, offering the full range of services. And we offer many clinical trials and treatments you can’t get everywhere.
Beyond our doctors, you'll have a dedicated team of nurses, social workers, psychologists, nutritionists, and Child Life specialists who understand what your child is going through. They're here to answer questions, provide support, and help your whole family navigate this journey together.
Nationally Recognized Cancer and Blood Disorders Center
The Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (NCCBD) is a place where children and young adults get the highest level of care in a comforting, family-centered environment. We’re one of the largest programs of its kind. With three regional locations throughout the Delaware Valley and Florida, we offer access to the most promising new treatments, often years before they're available elsewhere.
See how our collaborative approach, groundbreaking research, focused support and state-of-the-art facilities give kids with cancer the best chance for a long, healthy live.
Anemia is when the number of red blood cells in the body gets too low. Learn more about anemia from the experts at Nemours KidsHealth®.
Sickle cell disease is a health problem that makes a person's red blood cells become C-shaped or curved like a sickle instead of round.
